Health is the primary aspect of survival. Health support is another vital part of Fazilia’s support programs. For this purpose organization is focusing on those people who are living in areas that are devoid of basic health and hospital facilities. The organization under its health support programme aims to:

  • Provide basic and better health conditions to the deprived masses.
  • Create awareness amongst women about their basic health rights.
  • Support institutions that work for the betterment of critically ill.

Health Support Programme:

Financial Assistance:

Fazilia provides downtrodden and needy people with financial assistance to give them access to hospitals and medications. Fazilia supports two critically ill patients on monthly basis.

Rural Health Centre:

The organization also works to support those institutes that are already in the line to provide health facilities to the poor and needy but lack ability, means and measures to deliver their responsibilities. Fazilia provided life saving medicines to the Rural Health Centre Dhirkot AJK to facilitate 75,000 dependent populations.

Saint Josephs Hospice:

Fazilia strongly believes that no individual or institution shall be denied help due to religion or ethnicity. In 2014 saint josephs hospice went through a huge financial distress. The hospital was losing donors and funds and was on the verge of closing down. Fazilia took the initiative of helping the hospice to stabilize financially by introducing it to the new donors. Fazilia also provided saint josephs hospice with one month’s eatables for the patients, a cheque of 20,000 PKR for their Christmas preparations, mattresses for hospital beds, 20 new beds for the children’s ward and towels to promote sanitation and cleanliness.

Extended Health Assistance:

Fazilia helps the disable people financially in a way to overcome the constraint by providing artificial or natural substitute so that their disability doesn’t become a hurdle in their development. The organization paid 150,000 PKR for the cornea replacement operation of Muhammad Akram a 42 years old young worker who is a carpenter by profession. Due to loss of sight in one eye he was unable to do any job. The Fazilia also paid for the eye operation of Badshah Jan and Sabir belonging to a very far-flung area who were unable to afford their cataract surgery and hence were completely dependent on their families

Infrastructure Development:

Fazilia has established a Dispensary in village Subokot, UC Rangla village Dhirkot in AJK. The area is mountainous which is snow covered during the winters and access is only through a jeep as there is no road just an approach track. A huge population approximately 25,000 individuals including women and children were deprived of the basic health facility in a 10 KM radius. In this region of AJK all movement is a cross-country mountainous movement hence the women and children were facing a grave challenge to reach a health centre for a minor treatment. similarly due to lack of health and hygiene awareness the  diseases in children and women were  increasing. Fazilia recognizing the need for a basic health unit established a centre with community involvement.

Bio Remediation ( a cure for environment hazard):

Fazilia carried out a model bio remediation project in a village where there was no sanitation facility and water borne diseases were commonly found in the children. This sanitation water was also polluting the underground water reservoir, there was no awareness about the health and hygiene  and approximately 50,000 gallons of water was being wasted every day .Fazilia took the initiative and started the project which included street pavements, construction of manholes, construction of sewerage tanks and construction of bio remediation ponds in order to channelize the sewerage lines of 480 houses in the village. This project helped in cleanliness of the village and reduction of water born diseases. Similarly the project was also successful in reclaiming the waste water and making it use full for the irrigation purpose. This also helped in increasing the annual crops of the area by irrigating the 200 acres of land belonging to small land farmers.

Fazilia Clean Drinking Water Scheme:

Due to rising population, climate change, environmental degradation and water pollution, Pakistan is facing extreme problems in present and future. There is shortage of clean drinking water in Pakistan especially in the remote areas. Fazilia recognizing the shortage of clean drinking water in the community of Garhi Sharif initiated a self funded water supply scheme. This programme benefits 400 households.
